Chicken Bone
Broth
serves 4
ingredients
1 whole organic or free range chicken
1 leek
2 brown onions
half bunch celery
5 sprigs thyme
1 large nob fresh ginger
5 sprigs parsley
5 garlic cloves
2 bay leaves
2 sticks celery
2 carrots
1 large nob fresh turmeric
4 ½ water
2 ½ cups apple cider vinegar
¼ cup black peppercorns
3 large pinches Himalayan or Celtic sea salt1 whole organic chicken
method
Drink it by the mug full, or add as a base to all your yummy soups and slow cooked dishes. Full of healing compounds such as collagen, glycine, glutamine and minerals calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, silicon…. the list goes on. Do yourself a favour and get a pot on the stove top today.
Place all the ingredients in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Leave simmering for 12 hours. Top with water as needed.
Strain the broth into a large bowl. Pull the chicken off the bones and set aside for later.
Ladle into your favourite mug and top with some cayenne pepper or fresh herbs and a small dollop of butter. Use this broth as your base for stews, slow cooked meals and any soups you make.
Bring on winter.
